Welcome to Schooliki! By accessing or using this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Schooliki, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.

2. Description of Service

Schooliki is a language acquisition platform for teachers and their students. Teachers use it to plan, build and teach lessons in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese; students use it to complete the work their teachers assign. The platform integrates with third-party services such as Google Classroom and Canvas.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

Teacher accounts are for adults (18 or older).
Student accounts are for students 14 or older, or for younger students only where their school has given the consent the law requires (including under COPPA).
By adding students to a class, a teacher confirms they are authorized by their school (or by the students' parents or guardians) to do so.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for the accuracy of your account information. You may not share your account or use another person's.

4. The Free Plan

Teachers can use Schooliki on the Free plan at no charge: classes, the planner, routines, the Plan Player, lessons and worksheets the teacher builds, assignments, the gradebook and Google Classroom / Canvas sync. The Free plan includes up to 2 classes, 60 students and 500 MB of uploads, and does not include AI generation, listening audio generation, or speaking and pronunciation feedback.

The Free plan has no time limit, but we may change its features or limits. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a change that reduces them. We may remove a Free account that has not been used for 12 months, after emailing you first.

5. The Teacher Plan, Trial and Billing

The Teacher plan adds AI generation, listening audio and speaking and pronunciation feedback, for up to 150 students, with the monthly allowances shown on the Pricing page.
New subscribers may receive one 14-day free trial per teacher. A payment card is required to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and your card is charged.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel any time in Settings → Plan; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable.
Monthly allowances reset at the start of each billing period; unused allowances do not carry over. Add-on packs are one-time purchases and are not refundable.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes are added where they apply. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change, which takes effect at your next renewal.

6. Students

Students never pay for Schooliki and are never shown a payment page. A student's use of paid features is covered by, and counts toward the allowances of, the plan of the teacher whose class they are in. If a teacher's plan ends or reaches its limits, those features stop for that class until the plan allows them again.

7. AI-Generated Content

Some features use artificial intelligence to draft lessons, questions, audio and feedback. AI output can contain errors. Teachers are responsible for reviewing generated content before assigning it, and AI feedback on student work does not replace the teacher's own judgment.

8. Your Content and Intellectual Property

You keep ownership of the lessons, materials and other content you create or upload. You grant Schooliki a limited license to host, store, process and display that content only to provide the service to you and your students. The Schooliki software, design and content we provide remain the property of Schooliki; you may not reproduce or distribute them without permission.

9. Acceptable Use and Fair Use

You agree to use Schooliki only for lawful educational purposes, and not to transmit harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content. You also agree not to resell or redistribute generated audio or other generated content as a product, generate content in bulk by automated means, or create multiple accounts to get around plan limits or trials. Misuse may result in suspension or termination of your account.

10. Privacy & Data

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We collect and use personal data only as described in our Privacy Policy. We comply with applicable student data privacy laws, including FERPA and COPPA where applicable.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Schooliki is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Schooliki and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Use. We will notify users of significant changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
