1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this to create and maintain your Schooliki account.
Google Classroom Data
For teachers who connect their Google Classroom account, we access:
Course names and sections
Student roster (names and email addresses of enrolled students)
Assignment submissions and grades (only for assignments created through Schooliki)
We request only the minimum permissions (scopes) necessary to provide these features. We do not access Google Drive, Gmail, or any other Google services beyond Classroom.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you interact with Schooliki, including lesson creation activity, assignment submissions, quiz responses, and engagement patterns. This data is used to improve the platform and generate educational insights.
Student Responses
Student quiz answers, scores, and spoken/written responses submitted through Schooliki are stored to enable grading, feedback, and performance tracking.

3. Google API Services
Schooliki's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
We only use Google user data to provide or improve features that are visible to the user in the Schooliki interface.
We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide our service.
We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements.
We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless the user has explicitly consented, it is necessary for security or legal compliance, or it has been aggregated and anonymized.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with the following categories of service providers, strictly for the purpose of operating Schooliki:
Google Cloud / Firebase — database, authentication, and file storage
Google Gemini — AI content generation (lesson and quiz creation)
Microsoft Azure — speech assessment for pronunciation exercises
Unsplash — lesson thumbnail images
All providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
5. Student Privacy (FERPA / COPPA)
We take student privacy seriously. Student data is used only for educational purposes and is never sold or used for advertising. Schools and teachers are responsible for obtaining any required parental consent before enrolling students under 13 in Schooliki. We comply with applicable requirements of FERPA and COPPA.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Teachers may delete courses and lessons at any time. If you would like to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at support@schooliki.com.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Firebase Authentication, and role-based access controls. We regularly review our security practices to protect your information.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@schooliki.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a notice within the app. Your continued use of Schooliki after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
